| Other Info | Owls Roost Outfitters owner, Rick Estes of Ossipee, N.H. has developed a life-long passion for fishing. First taught to him by his mother and later influenced by world famous fly tiers like Jim Warner and Lefty Harris in his hometown of Wolfeboro. Rick started tying flies at an early age and has been doing so in earnest for over 40 years. He now offers clinics at The Bethel Inn Resort, where you'll learn to tie everything from pupae to dries and everything in between. Program dates in 2013: February 23 & 24 and March 22 - These programs are filling fast, call to reserve. February 23 & 24 - A Season of Fly Fishing in Maine and New Hampshire Slideshow, Fly tying focus: Androscoggin River, Maine & NH Come join us for the orientation on Saturday night. Rick will be there to present his "A Season of Fly Fishing in Maine and New Hampshire" slide presentation, and talk with everybody about what to expect in the the next day's class. On Saturday you will be tying flies that are used on the Upper Androscoggin and of course can be used elsewhere. From typical nymphs to streamers like the Evening Andy you will get an up close look at the flies used by river guides on this great fishery. The typical hatches as well as the flies used will be discussed at length. This is a novice/intermediate level course, and all materials will be supplied. You should bring your own tools and portable lights, but if there is something you think you are lacking ,with advanced notice, arrangements can be made to meet your needs. We are confident that you will see flies you have never seen before and use old and new materials in new and imaginative ways.
